Preparing for my appointment
Come Prepared
-
Come with a list of questions and don’t be afraid to ask them.
-
Consider bringing someone with you, a family member or friend, who can ask questions on your behalf. When you’re in pain or feeling anxious, it’s difficult to process information.
-
Bring your referral letter
Information We Will Need
-
If you have had previous surgery or injections , you should get as much information as possible about that procedure,” If possible, bring a copy of any operation or injection reports with you.
-
A list of previous treatments, such as physiotherapy, osteopathy or chiropractice.
-
A list of all your medications
-
A list of any chronic medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems, etc.
Previous Imaging.
The reports alone are not sufficient. We will want to see the images.
-
If you have a CD, please arrange with Jo or Jade that you bring it to the hospital and have the images loaded onto our system. The process may take ½ hour, so either come sufficiently early or preferably bring it in 48 hours before your appointment.
-
CD images cannot always be read directly if you bring the CD to the appointment with you rather than bringing it beforehand.
-
If you do not have a CD, then please liaise with Jo or Jade. We can arrange electronic transfer of the images from the imaging centre where the scans were performed. Image transfer may take 24 hours.
